Emperor Napoleon 1st Ringeisen-Paris Military Deluxe Presentation Pistol with The Emperor’s unique “Eagle” silver Cartouche a la Biennias Napoleon’s Goldsmith on the steel capped butt, with cross-hatched side panels to pistol handle

Formerly belonging to the “Duc de Montdidier” and it was last sold from a major collection in 1926.

*Traditional Family accounts state this fine Presentation Military Flintlock Pistol was historically presented by the Emperor Napoleon 1st.

Pistol: Fine rifled hexagonal barrel with fine gold sight, silver topped deluxe ivory tipped wooden shafted ramrod held by fine silver ornamental faceted ornamental engraved steel mounts

Further embellished by floral silver engraved mounts. Two fine silver oval headed removable retaining pins on barrel wooden undercarriage.

Ornate decorative shaped silver side plates. Some fine steel screw-heads with engraved foliage.

Barrel has three Armoury inspector stamps on top and side panels.

Fine Steel Lock-plate engraved with foliage decorated copper plate script engraved manufacturers name, “Ringeisen Paris”.

A feature unique to Ringeisen is the hammer; which is actually locked from inside the lock-plate.

Pistol: 365mm in length, and the barrel is 220mm long.

A historically important Presentation
Military Flintlock pistol, one of only a small handful of known pistols manufactured at the request of the French Emperor Napoleon 1st.

**A pair of Deluxe Presentation military pistols with the Silver embossed "Eagle" emblem of Emperor himself belonging to Napoleon personally but, with additional gold inlay on the barrels were found in the Emperor's carriage after the battle of Waterloo in 1815 these together another single pistol in a French Museum and a pair discovered in recent years are the only known examples of these uniquely designed pistols for the Emperor Napoleon 1804-1815.
